travel-deal-new-yearStart 2013 off with a suite deal from one of Canada’s most outstanding hotels.

The Rosewood Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver is giving guests a 35% discount on nightly room rates through April 30, 2013. The opulent Rosewood property, which was fully renovated in 2011, features a 1927 Lobby Lounge that honours the Hotel Georgia’s opening year and its Prohibition-era history. More recently, the hotel’s Hawksworth was recognized as one of the Top 50 Restaurants in Canada by Vacay.ca, among other accolades.

Featuring 154 guest rooms and suites, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia is located across from the Vancouver Art Gallery and a short walk to the city’s magnificent waterfront, nightlife scene and historic Gastown district.

With the 35% off deal with the Suite Experience package, guests will save close to $100 off the usual rate, which is in the area of $260 per night.

Vacay.ca Spotlights Hotel Georgia’s Art Collection

Vacay.ca Senior Writer Waheeda Harris visited the Rosewood Hotel Georgia and was struck by its art collection, a series of 31 modern pieces from primarily Canadian artists. Anyone can drop in to see the artwork, which is displayed throughout the hotel’s public spaces.

Harris writes: “The collection starts at the hotel entrances with metal sculptures by David Robinson — and then leads to pieces by well-known names such as Jack Shadbolt, Douglas Coupland, Karin Bubas, Guido Molinari and Takao Tanabe as well as rising stars such as Ray Natraoro, Sonny Assu and Mark Mullin.”
