Joash Krishna of Vancouver took this image of Lighthouse Park, a beautiful spot along the Howe Sound in West Vancouver. On a rough, stormy day, Joash says this scenic British Columbia destination offers a different landscape than the glorious shot shown above, but the one thing that remains steady in the park is the lighthouse.
“I also like this image as the lighthouse is a true symbol of standing firm in challenges,” says Joash, a pharmacist working in clinical Safety and pharmacovigilance who recently picked up photography because of his love of outdoors and nature. “Photography allows me to make this connection and it gives me total joy and a way of relaxation. I have started doing photography in Vancouver as it is truly a photographer’s paradise and gives a great learning experience.”
Lighthouse Park features magnificent Douglas Fir trees and easy hiking trails. The park is 20 kilometres from Vancouver, a roughly 30-minute drive along Marine Drive or a two-hour bus ride on bus No. 250 that runs along Georgia Street in the city’s downtown ($5 fare).
