Are you Canada’s greatest food lover?
If you are you will be on your way to a luxury vacation to St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador for a meal of a lifetime at Raymonds, named Canada’s No. 1 restaurant in 2014 by Vacay.ca.
As the digital travel magazine prepares its 2015 edition of the Top Restaurants in Canada, it has teamed with Vancouver-based Food.ee to launch the Food.ee of the Year Contest. The contest will be run from the new website www.TopRestaurantsInCanada.com.
Members of the public will vote for their favourite restaurant and submit a photo, video or story demonstrating why they are Canada’s greatest foodie. The winning entry receives round-trip airfare to St. John’s, a luxury hotel stay at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland and dinner for two at Raymonds.

“Food.ee is dedicated to improving the quality of meals Canadian office workers enjoy. We’ve teamed with leading restaurants in Vancouver and Toronto, and are delighted to partner with Vacay.ca on its efforts to celebrate leaders in Canada’s food industry,” says Food.ee spokesperson Moez Kassam.
Canada’s Best Restaurants List Coming in June
Vacay.ca, which produces award-winning content about the nation’s destinations and cultures, founded the Top 50 Restaurants in Canada in 2012 to spotlight the best dining experiences in the country for travellers. In 2015, it adds a digital experience dedicated entirely to Canada’s exciting restaurant scene.
“The Vacay.ca restaurants guide is seen as an authority by the nation’s food lovers, chefs and restaurateurs, so we’re thrilled to launch the TopRestaurantsInCanada.com website to provide even more great content about the fantastic food scene in the country,” says Renee Suen, the new chairperson of the Top Restaurants in Canada Guide.
Canadians make more than 17 million visits to restaurants each day. According to Restaurants Canada, 55% of Canadians name eating out as their favourite activity to enjoy with friends. With such passion for restaurants, it’s no surprise that entries for the Food.ee of the Year Contest have already started to pour in.

To enter, Canadians are asked to write about why they are worthy of the grand prize and to vote for their favourite restaurant in the country. The restaurant that receives the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award from the Top Restaurants in Canada Guide, though the judges’ votes will determine the 2015 rankings.
The contest closes on May 20, 2015, and winners will be announced in early June, when the 2015 Top Restaurants in Canada Guide is revealed.
