Vacay.ca Knows Where to Apres-Ski in Kelowna
Many smart travellers and foodies are well aware that British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley is a haven for outstanding wine production. But Vacay.ca writer Dan Clapson discovered that Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan, is a hot spot for micro brewed beer, too.
Clapson writes: “Located in Manteo Resort, just a five-minute drive from the city’s downtown, Smack DAB, like any self-respecting Kelowna establishment, has a nice selection of local wines, but also boasts a quality menu of microbrews. In fact, it’s the largest offering of microbrews you’ll find in the valley city. Coming primarily from within the province, you can try brews like Peach Cream Ale (The Tin Whistle, Penticton) or the smokey Stoked Amber Ale (Firehall Brewery, Oliver). Go for the beer-flight option (wine flights available as well) to sip on five different varieties that give you a sampling of what BC offers. The flight is held on a board with each glass holder cleverly labelled (S-M-A-C-K) with a small list that allows diners drinkers to reference what exactly they’re consuming.”
