This beautiful sunset mirrored over Little Lake Manitou was captured by Vacay.ca reader Daniel Bushman.
Manitou Beach is a special place. In January, Vacay.ca named it one of the Best Places to Travel in Canada in 2012 and recently three members of our team ventured to this unique spot known for water that reputedly has healing powers. Our reports are forthcoming, but in the mean time you can get a glimpse here of what you might experience when you trek to rural Saskatchewan to see this natural wonder.
Daniel Bushman of nearby Watrous sent in this photograph of a sunset over Little Lake Manitou, which has almost as much salinity as the Dead Sea. For his beautiful shot, Daniel is our latest Photo of the Week winner! He will receive a travel prize from Vacay.ca, courtesy of Magellan’s. Here’s what Daniel wrote about the moment he took the shot and the inspiration for it.
This picture was snapped September 3, 2012 at Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan — while enjoying the last long-weekend of summer! With the sun going down above the shores of Little lake Manitou, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the great memories from visiting Manitou Beach this year. From the annual fireworks on July 1 to a round of golf to enjoying supper on the beach and then watching the sun go down above Camp Easter Seal. This little gem in the heart of Saskatchewan also allows people to float effortlessly in the waters, truly an amazing summer experience and the reason I enjoy going down there with my family.Daniel Bushman,
Watrous, Saskatchewan
Wonderfully expressed words, Daniel! Congratulations on the win!
