Vacay.ca Recommends Toronto for the Grey Cup

What a wweekend! Downtown Toronto is the place to be and the Rogers Centre is where the action is!

Vacay.ca writer Karen Kwan wrote a story called “100th Grey Cup: Toronto in party mode as Argos gear up for Stampeders.”

And she wasn’t kidding – the city has been electric over the past ten days with the Grey Cup Festival and it all comes to a head this weekend when the Toronto Argonauts take on the Calgary Stampeders in the championship game on Sunday.  Soon, the wait will be over and we will know which city is truly king – Calgary or Toronto.

Kwan: “Football fever has hit Toronto — and you don’t need tickets to the game to enjoy the 100th Grey Cup festivities..

The festival includes several zones centred around the downtown core: the Family Zone at Yonge-Dundas Square, the Adrenaline Zone at Nathan Phillips Square, the Street Festival Zone on Front Street near Rogers Centre, and the Fan Zone at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. While diehard CFL fans will want to get in on all of the excitement, with more than 50 events scheduled, that’d be harder than scoring a touchdown in the big game.”

Another great reason to be in Toronto this week are the leftover deals from Black Friday. Perhaps you made the trip to America for those great shopping opportunities, or maybe you made the choice to stay in Canada. Nevertheless, there’s always great shopping to be found in Toronto throughout the year.
